Tenth day without verdict in Philadelphia church case Posted: 18 Jun 2012 02:58 PM PDT NEW YORK (Reuters) - The jury in the child sex abuse trial of a Roman Catholic monsignor will be back for an eleventh day of deliberations after discussions on Monday ended without a verdict. After a 10-week trial, the jury is "struggling" to reach a decision on Monsignor William Lynn, the highest-ranking U.S. church official to stand trial in the church's wide-ranging pedophilia trial. Nigeria religious riots kill at least 52 Posted: 18 Jun 2012 02:12 PM PDT KADUNA, Nigeria (Reuters) - At least 52 people were killed in religious rioting sparked by three suicide bombings against churches in northern Nigeria, where the dead were piled up on Monday in mortuaries and cemeteries in the city of Kaduna. Rioting broke out on Sunday after suicide car bombers attacked three churches in northern Nigeria, killing at least 19 people and wounding dozens. Christian youths had set up roadblocks and dragged Muslims from cars or motorbikes and killed them, witnesses said. ... |

Nigeria religious riots killed at least 52: hospitals Posted: 18 Jun 2012 08:02 AM PDT KADUNA (Reuters) - At least 52 people were killed in religious rioting sparked by three suicide bombings of churches on Sunday, hospital staff said on Monday, as the dead bodies piled up in mortuaries. A Reuters reporter visited two hospitals in the northern city of Kaduna, the St Gerald Hospital and Barau Dikko Hospital, near where the rioting took place.
