Prosecutor: Crime scene at Okla. church 'horrific' (AP) Posted: 25 Aug 2009 05:16 PM PDT AP - The scene inside a small Pentecostal church where a pastor was slain was "horrific," an Oklahoma district attorney said Tuesday, calling it the most brutal he has seen in nearly 20 years as a prosecutor.

Correction: World Briefly story (AP) Posted: 25 Aug 2009 02:55 PM PDT AP - In an Aug. 22 story in the World Briefly package about the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America changing its policy on gay clergy, The Associated Press erroneously paraphrased comments by the Rev. Mark Chavez of Landisville, Pa. Chavez said he would fight to keep the church from moving even further toward what he sees as an embrace of behavior condemned by Scripture.
